Where is St. Thomas?

For those of you who aren’t familiar with the Caribbean, here’s a quick geography lesson.  St. Thomas is part of the U.S. Virgin Islands, located just 90 miles east of Puerto Rico.  Our coordinates on a map are 18°20′N 64°55′W.  In other words, Nova Scotia is to our north and Mexico City to our west.  We are located in the Leeward Islands of the Lesser Antilles.  The Leeward Islands are the northern islands of the Lesser Antilles chain. As a group they start east of Puerto Rico and reach southward to Dominica.
St. Thomas is in the Atlantic Time Zone, one hour ahead of those back on the East Coast during the winter.  We don’t observe Daylight Savings Time, which is why there’s an hour difference just half the year.
